FAQs…

What is nutritional therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health and peak performance. Nutritional Therapy can identify imbalances and how these contribute to symptoms. This approach allows the nutritional therapist to work with people on many levels by addressing nutritional imbalances and supporting the body towards maintaining health

Working together we can devise an individual, tailored programme that’s right for you, your body and your lifestyle. The best thing about nutritional therapy is that it enables you to take responsibility for your health through education, food and lifestyle changes.

Why use nutritional therapy?

Some people simply want to check that they are on the right track with regard to healthy eating. Others want to achieve their ideal weight or get help with their symptoms. Nutritional therapists recognise that each person is an individual with unique requirements and take time to define a personalized nutrition plan rather than a 'one size fits all' approach.

Do you offer health testing?

Depending on your individual case, health testing may be used. If this is recommended blood tests can be carried out at your appointment and sent to be analysed locally at County Pathology in Guildford. More often than not, results will be available the same day. Health testing is not covered by the cost of your consultation.

Will I need supplements?

Supplements play an important role in nutritional therapy. However they may or may not be used depending on your personal circumstances and the dietary plan you may be following. Supplements will always be prescribed with your budget and lifestyle in mind and are not included in the cost of your consultation.

Will I have to give up my favourite foods?

My philosophy is that food is there to be enjoyed; yes compromises often have to be made but not at the expense of your favourite foods. Very often seemingly unhealthy dishes can easily be adapted to make them tasty and nutritious.

How many appointments will I need?

Generally most people will have an initial consultation followed by one to two follow up appointments. However, this varies from person to person and I will be able to give you some indication at your first consultation. Are telephone consultations available?

It is normal for me to meet you face to face for the initial consultation; however in some cases, and depending on your location, a telephone consultation may be possible.

Charlotte is passionate and enthusiastic about what she does – that’s making you feel better. Her approach to food and diet in general is a truly positive one. She is encouraging rather than insistent and realistic rather than dogmatic. Working with Charlotte has been a very valuable experience.
